HARARE — The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has opened nominations for its Executive Committee elections, which will culminate in an Elective Ordinary Congress set for January 25, 2025.
In a statement on Friday, ZIFA announced that the elections will adhere to the 2024 ZIFA Statutes, Electoral Code, and the approved Elections Roadmap.
Nomination forms are available for download on the ZIFA website or can be collected from their Harare offices.
“No fees are required for any of the positions,” ZIFA said, encouraging interested stakeholders to contact the Electoral Committee at [email protected] for further details.
As the elections approach, aspiring candidates have already begun engaging stakeholders.
Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa recently extended an all-expenses-paid trip to ZIFA regional chairpersons, who are part of the electoral college eligible to vote in the upcoming polls.
Mliswa, describing the gesture as a unity-building initiative, invited the chairpersons to the Zimbabwe vs. Kenya Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on November 15 in Polokwane, South Africa.
Other candidates who have expressed interest in the ZIFA presidency include Walter Magaya, Richard Mazodze, Marshal Gore, and Philemon Machana. Kukurigo
