HARARE – Zimdancehall maestro, Winky D marks a return to the Castle Lager Braai Day set for Saturday.

The popular chanter’s absence last year left ardent fans disappointed amid a storm over his satirical content in some of his songs concerning Zimbabwean politics and the economy.

Despite emerging as persona non grata and being denied airplay on state-run radio and television stations, the gaffer still captivates audiences with his unyielding spirit and unparalleled artistry.

The celebrity performer’s previous appearances at the annual event have consistently mesmerised showgoers.

The singer is fresh from another stellar performance at the Kadoma Music Festival.

Other musical acts set to light up the Braai event include Enzo Ishall, Tamy Moyo, Dhadza D, and several other artists from Chill Spot Records.

In a statement, organisers said, “Castle Lager is thrilled to host the highly anticipated sixth edition of the biggest Braai Festival in Zimbabwe, the Castle Lager Braai Day.

“The Braai event aims to bring together the local community and the visitors to celebrate the vibrant braai culture of our motherland along with the finest beer of Africa.

“Attendees can expect to enjoy mouth-watering braai, a variety of engaging activities, games as well as some of the best local entertainment.

“Our valued customers will always be able to enjoy the best of our beverages at very affordable prices.”
