BEITBRIDGE – Two twin sisters were early Wednesday morning burnt to death in a mysterious fire that gutted a Beitbridge cottage in which they were sleeping.
Police confirmed the sad incident via their official social media handles.
“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a fire incident which occurred on 08/03/23 at around 0045 hours at Impala Extension suburb, Beitbridge where twin sisters, Everjoy Chapasuka (30) and Sandra Chapasuka (30) were burnt beyond recognition when the cottage they were sleeping in caught fire following an explosion which was allegedly heard by neighbours,” police said Thursday.
Meanwhile, in another incident involving a fire death, police said they were also investigating possible murder of 23-year-old Lunia Nyamuripa.
“Police in Kenzamba are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of murder in which Lunia Nyamuripa (23) died on 07/03/23 at Kubva Village, Gore Area, Makonde after the hut she was sleeping in was set on fire,” police said.
