HARARE – Simba Bhora extended their lead at the top of the premiership football table following a 1-0 beating of Bikita Minerals at Wadzanayi stadium on a day fellow title contenders FC Platinum dropped points in a 1-1 draw away to ZPC Kariba.
Talented skipper Walter Musona struck after 32 minutes to ensure the premiership surprise packages created a 4-point buffer with former leaders FC Platinum as the 2024 league race climaxes.
In other matches, 10-men Ngezi Platinum bounced back from their CAF Champions league exit through beating Yadah 2-0 at Heart Stadium.
Obriel Chirinda and substitute Tinotenda Murasirwana were on target for the defending champions in the second half.
Elsewhere, Bulawayo Chiefs drew 1-1 with TelOne at Luveve while Green Fuel and Caps United also battled out to a 2-2 draw at the Green Fuel Arena.
Simba Bhora top the league table on 50 points followed by FC Platinum who are on 46 from the same number of matches played.
Ngezi Platinum are third on 41.
Fourth placed Highlanders, on 38, hope to remain in touch with the pacesetters when they fulfil their Week 25 clash at home to Herentals College thus Sunday.
