HARARE – Surprise premiership log leaders MWOS beat Dynamos 1-0 at Ngoni stadium on Monday to continue with their dream start to their maiden campaign in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Claude Mapoka got the priceless goal for the league debutants after 52 minutes to condemn the once feared premiership giants to their third defeat of the campaign.
In other Match Day 7 fixtures played on Sunday, Ngezi Platinum and Highlanders played to a goalless draw at Baobab stadium while FC Platinum drew 1-1 with Scottland.
Champions Simba Bhora were 1-0 victors over Chicken Inn at Luveve.
In another highlight of the weekend’s premiership fixtures, Kwekwe United failed to turn up for the match at Bata stadium.
The PSL later released a statement confirming the abandonment of the match. The football administrator said was waiting for the match report to determine the way forward.
In Sunday fixtures, Bikita Minerals beat Caps United 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium while bottom placed Triangle finally recorded their first win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Yadah at Gibbo stadium.
Manica Diamonds drew 2-2 with TelOne at Sakubva stadium.
On Friday, Green Fuel settled for a 0-0 stalemate with ZPC Kariba at the Green Fuel Arena.
Following the weekend’s fixtures, MWOS maintain pole position on 17 points from 7 matches played so far.
Champions Simba Bhora are second on 14. The champions share the same number of points with Ngezi Platinum who occupy third spot due to an inferior goal difference.
Scottland are fourth on 12 points.
Traditional giants Highlanders, Dynamos and Caps United are number 7, 14 and 17 on 10, 6 and 4 points respectively.
