HARARE – An Upper Sixth student who committed suicide at ZRP High School in Harare on Monday had a pending disciplinary hearing for fondling the breasts of a female student, it has emerged.
Prince Taonezvi, 18, hanged himself with a rope at around 5PM before his body was found by a caretaker on Tuesday.
Taonezvi allegedly left a suicide note whose contents police have not divulged.
He had been asked to write a report by headmaster Seviours Mutopa following an incident last week during which he allegedly proposed love to a female student, but was spurned, according to HMetro.
Taonezvi later approached the same student from behind and allegedly wrapped his arms around her and touched her breasts, prompting her to scream.
Homicide detectives are investigating the student’s death.
