JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – South Africa based Zimbabwe businessman Ranga Gova, who disappeared nearly six weeks ago following a traumatic hijacking incident near his Centurion home, has reunited with his family unharmed.

In a statement Monday, Gova’s family confirmed the businessman has been found and thanked everyone who supported appeals for his return.

“We are extremely happy to let everyone know that Ranga Gova is back home.

“We are truly grateful and appreciate the support.

“At this moment, we would like to request some privacy as we try to deal with everything that has happened,” the family said.

Gova was kidnapped November 3 this year while seated in his wife’s vehicle just by the traffic lights near Midstream Mediclinic Centurion. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras.

He was driving his wife’s car which was however recovered four days later, just a few kilometres from his home.

His kidnapping ignited a fierce social media campaign for his safe return with the concerted effort also involving mainstream media outlets and South African police.
