HARARE – Suspected serial killer Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu, linked to the murder of five homeless men in Harare and three homicide cases in Bulawayo, has denied police claims he cooked and ate his victims’ body parts.

Police claim Ndlovu would eat some human organs after ripping open bodies of his victims.

When the 20-year-old appeared before Harare Magistrate Ethel Chihera Tuesday for the confirmation of his extra-curial statements, Ndlovu said he was forced by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to admit being a cannibal.

He is facing five murder charges and attempted murder.

Between August 28 and September 4, Ndlovu allegedly targeted homeless people as they slept and crushed their heads with bricks before cutting their stomachs open with broken glass.

Police said they had found no evidence to suggest the killings were for ritual purposes.

On his initial appearance, Ndlovu made a confession to the five brutal killings.
