HARARE – Ngezi Platinum have opened a four-point lead at the top of the Zimbabwe premiership table after an emphatic 3-0 defeat of Green Fuel in a Match Day 23 clash played at Baobab stadium Saturday.
Madamburo got their goals through Qadr Amini after 10 minutes, Murimba (24) and Bruno Mtigo (61).
In another fixture, Bulawayo Chiefs ruined Dynamos’ resurgence with a 2-1 beating of the Harare giants at Barbourfields.
Chiefs scored through Malvin Mkolo and Obriel Chirinda while Dynamos got their consolation through Donald Mudadi.
All the goals were scored in the second.
At Gibbo stadium, Manica Diamonds climbed to second spot on the premiership ladder with a 2-0 beating of ZPC Kariba.
Cranborne Bullets fell 0-1 away to Hwange at Nyamhunga while Herentals compounded bottom placed Black Rhinos’ woes with a 2-1 beating of the premiership punch bags at Mandava.
Following Week 23 of the premiership round of matches, Ngezi Platinum lead the standings with 45 points while Manica Diamonds are second on 42.
Former leaders Highlanders sank to third but could regain second spot with a win against Yadah this Sunday while Dynamos return to number four on 39 points.
