HARARE – Dynamos surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Hwange while former champions Caps United and FC Platinum posted victories in separate Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 2 clashes played at different centres across the country Saturday.
In the match played at Barbourfields, hosts Dynamos powered home through Donald Mudadi after 29 minutes while Emmanuel Paga doubled the Harare giants’ lead with another goal 54 minutes into the match.
Hwange replied through Marcelene Mlilo after 61 minutes while an own goal by Donald Dzvinyai 72 minutes into the tie saw the opponents share the spoils.
In another match played at Nyamhunga stadium in Kariba, Ralph Kawondera scored for Caps United after 38 minutes to allow Rodwell Chingetere to seal a triumph by the Green Machine over fellow Harare side Herentals College, the hosts of the day.
In the headline fixture of this weekend’s Match Day 2, defending champions Ngezi Platinum lost 2-0 to FC Platinum at Baobab through double scorer Muvirimi after 7 and 63 minutes into the clash.
At Wadzanayi stadium, Walter Musona scored from the spot for his new paymasters Simba Bhora on the hour mark, but his effort was cancelled by Donald Ngoma to end the tie in a 1-1 draw with Green Fuel while TelOne were 3-1 victors over Manica Diamonds at Bata.
Following Saturday’s Match Day 2 round of fixtures, FC Platinum tops the standings on 6 points while TelOne, Simba Bhora, Green Fuel, Hwange and Chicken Inn all share second spot on 4 points each.
Match Day 2 continues on Sunday with Highlanders taking on city neighbours Bulawayo Chiefs in the Bulawayo derby while Chegutu Pirates host ZPC Kariba at Baobab.
