BULAWAYO – Manica Diamonds recovered from conceding a second minute goal to draw 1-1 with Highlanders at Barbourfields on Thursday.
The point was enough to take the ambitious Manicaland side back to the top of the Premier Soccer League table, dislodging overnight leaders FC Platinum.
The visitors were caught napping in the early exchanges as Brighton Ncube found himself in acres of space in the Manica box before slotting home his fifth goal of the season.
The home side dominated proceedings but was found wanting in the final third as chances went begging.
At Rufaro, Dynamos led 2-0 over visiting Arenel before a last minute goal by substitute Adonice Nyoni made for a nervy finish. Genesis Mangombe’s men held on to win 2-1, thanks to first half goals by skipper Emmanuel Jalai and Namibian striker Sadney Uri-Khob.
