HARARE – A 41-year-old Gokwe man faces murder following an incident in which he flogged his 14-year-old son with a sjambok, accusing him of raping his 2-year-old sister.
Police confirmed the shock incident which occurred on Tuesday.
Posting on their official X handle, police said, “Trymore Hora, 41, was arrested in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Matemazondo Village, Nembudziya, Gokwe in which his son, Chalton Hora, 14 died”.
Police added, “On 23 December 2024, the suspect accused the victim of raping his 2-year-old daughter before assaulting him with a sjambok indiscriminately all over the body. The victim started vomiting and subsequently passed away on 24 December 2024.”
Meanwhile, in another unfortunate incident, a 9-month-old minor died after she fell from the bed and got trapped in-between the wall and the bed.
Police confirmed the incident which occurred in Waterfalls, Harare on Tuesday.
The infant, police said, had been left on the bed by her mother who was doing her household chores.
