HARARE – Zimdancehall star Jah Master apologised on Monday for kicking a fan on stage while performing in Chinhoyi on Saturday.
The 24-year-old singer, real name Rodney Mashandure, kicked Eric Cantona on the back of the head after the latter jumped on stage to dance.
The incident was captured on video and caused outrage online.
The ‘Hello Mwari’ star took to Facebook where he wrote a lengthy apology, admitting his “shame for a disgraceful act which is not to be expected from anyone.”
“What I did had no justification whatsoever, that is why I came here to apologise. May you please forgive me and I promise that it will never happen again,” he wrote.

Jah Master said he had apologised to the man after the show but now realised that was not enough.
“I’m looking for the man I kicked and will ensure medical checks are done to ascertain if he was not injured seriously. All proceeds from the show will go to him as compensation,” the singer said.
He appealed to his fans to “give me a chance to mend my behaviour after this mishap.”
“I want to thank all those who are giving me words of advice and those who coming to my inbox. It’s your right because what I did was unwarranted. It’s disgraceful,” he said.
