HARARE – Guthrie Munyuki will take over as Daily News editor-in-chief on August 1.
Hama Saburi, who occupied the position, has been elevated to Chief Operations Officer.
The Associated Newspapers of Zimbabwe, publishers of The Daily News and The Daily News on Sunday, has not had a Chief Operations Officer since Sharon Samushonga left last year.
Munyuki is a Daily News veteran who has worked almost 12 years at the privately-owned newspaper, which has seen at least two ownership changes since 1999.
He was promoted to deputise Saburi in June 2017 after previously working as senior assistant editor.
