The girl will be turned over to the Social Welfare Department’s care after being discharged.
The former Kambira Primary School pupil dropped out of learning when she fell pregnant from incidents allegedly by two 17-year-old boys who are understood to be her brothers from the same farm. The two have been arrested.
Her pregnancy, a rare thing among minors as young as 8, was discovered by school authorities who took her for a medical check up.
She sadly joins a growing number of young minors who have become pregnant as a result of sexual exploitation by older persons.
