HARARE – Dynamos and Highlanders conspired to produce goalless draws on Sunday to allow FC Platinum to widen the points gap between them and the fallen giants.

In a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 21 clash played at Rufaro stadium, Dynamos were given a rude test to their preparedness for the CAF Confederation Cup next month when they failed to subdue their opponents Bikita Minerals

It was the Glamour Boys’ 11th draw this season, meaning half of all their games in the current premiership campaign have ended in stalemates.

Of these, five have ended goalless, a red flag for a team seeking to conquer Africa in the continental safari.

At Barbourfields, Highlanders also produced another drab goalless draw against TelOne in a setback to their renewed bid to challenge for the premiership title.

Elsewhere, the match pitting title chasing pair of Manica Diamonds and defending champions Ngezi Platinum ended in another goalless draw at Sakubva.

There was another goalless draw between Green Fuel and Chegutu Pirates at Green Fuel Arena.

The story was different at Mandava stadium where FC Platinum thrashed Herentals 3-1.

Second placed Simba Bhora continued applying pressure on FC Platinum with a 1-0 beating of hosts Hwange at the Colliery while ZPC Kariba also emerged victorious in a 2-0 beating of visiting Chicken Inn at Nyamhunga.

FC Platinum extended their lead to 42 points from 21 games played.

Simba Bhora are two points behind on 40, Ngezi Platinum are third on 36, Manica Diamonds follow on 35 while Highlanders are fifth on 33.
