HARARE – Dynamos and Highlanders have been hit with fines by the Premier Soccer League over the Barbourfields pitch invasion by their fans on May 15.
The match was abandoned after Highlanders took a late lead which would have been the match winner.
Dynamos players mobbed the referee and their fans invaded the pitch, preventing the match from restarting.
The PSL has awarded the match to Highlanders on a 3-0 score.
Dynamos were fined US$7,500 and Highlanders US$5,000.
Highlanders fans were also guilty of pitch invasion and missile throwing following a horrific injury suffered by defender Andrew Tandi. Following a lengthy injury stoppage, Dynamos forward Bill Antonio was given a red card.
Highlanders were previously fined US$5,000 over their abandoned match at Mandava against FC Platinum, while Dynamos were fined US$4,000 and their manager Richard Chihoro US$2,000 after violence at their match away to Bulawayo Chiefs in March.
