BULAWAYO – Chief Mabhikwa of Lupane, one of the country’s youngest chiefs, has died in a car accident.
The 29-year-old, born Nichodemus Vusumuzi Khumalo, was killed when his Isuzu truck was involved in a head-on collision with a haulage truck on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway on Sunday night.
His brother Donald said: “He was in a collision with a haulage truck around 10PM. He was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital where he sadly died.”
Chief Mabhikwa was just 19 when he was installed in 2012, six years after his father, Edwin, died.
