HARARE – FC Platinum, Chicken Inn, Dynamos and Highlanders all reached the last eight of the Chibuku Super Cup as Black Rhinos beat CAPS United 1-0 to eliminate them.
Dynamos kept their hopes of a maiden Chibuku silverware alive as Trevor Mavhunga fired them to a 73rd minute winner over Hwahwa at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Dynamos are yet to win the tournament after its relaunch nine years ago.
Highlanders navigated a tricky away fixture at Gibbo where a solitary goal was enough to beat a plucky Triangle.
Triangle goalkeeper Taurai Chitsumba was credited with an own goal after Stanley Ngala’s effort at goal on 25 minutes cannoned off the upright and went in via Chitsumba’s back.
At Luveve on Saturday, Munashe Pini and Malvern Gaki scored in the first half as Chicken Inn brushed aside the challenge of Harare City.
FC Platinum made light work of Tenax at Mandava with a routine 2-0 victory.
