HARARE – Bulawayo Chiefs have joined Hwange, Chegutu Pirates and Arenel Movers among the four premier league teams to be relegated to the less glamourous Division One football as the curtain comes down on the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign with Match Day 34 round of fixtures being played this weekend.

On Saturday, Manica Diamonds sealed Bulawayo Chiefs’ fate with a 2-1 defeat of the 2022 Chibuku Super Cup champions at Sakubva stadium.

Chiefs went into the clash needing anything other than a win to survive the chop but fell disappointingly to one of the premiership’s most consistent sides.

At the Green Fuel Arena, home side Green Fuel were 2-1 victors of once mighty Dynamos.

Bikita Minerals also beat Hwange 2-0 at Wadzanayi stadium while ZPC Kariba spoiled Simba Bhora’s trophy presentation moment with a 1-0 defeat of the surprise champions at Nyamhunga.

At Rufaro, Herentals played out a goalless goal with Chicken Inn.

There were two more goalless draws recorded in matches played between FC Platinum and TelOne at Mandava as well as the clash between the Division One bound pair of Arenel Movers and Chegutu Pirates at Luveve.

Match Day 34 matches continue this Sunday with Highlanders taking on Yadah at Barbourfields while Caps United entertain dethroned champions Ngezi Platinum at Rufaro.
