HARARE – A 13-year-old girl is six months pregnant from yet another shock rape incident that has resulted in the minor falling pregnant.
This was revealed Friday by police through their official social media handle.
“The ZRP is investigating a case of rape in which a 13-year-old grade seven pupil was raped by a certain man after she had visited her mother for a holiday in Kambuzuma, Harare, in April 2022.
“The offence came to light when the complainant returned to her aunt’s place in Mutoko, where she was medically examined and found to be six months pregnant. #notorape”
Police did not reveal further details on the incident.
The rape and impregnating of the girl follows recent reports of minors as young as 9 also falling pregnant from rape ordeals.
A 13-year-old girl is three months pregnant from a rape incident she suffered in Chitungwiza July this year.
The country has witnessed a shock rise in cases of child rape.
The scourge has been magnified by two cases in which two 9-year-old minors fell pregnant with one of them confirmed through DNA tests to be a result of a sexual act between the Tsholotsho minor and a 13-year-old cousin.
Two 17-year-old boys were also arrested and taken as suspects in the violation of the Bindura minor.
