BULAWAYO- A businessman who owned a butchery at popular Bulawayo chill spot, koChigumira, has been found dead in an apparent suicide.
Police were called to Cowdray Park suburb at around 9PM on Saturday night after residents reported finding the body of a man inside a black Mercedes parked in the street. He had a gunshot wound to the head.
Police identified the man as John Tafara Madzikatire, owner of Samaz Butchery in nearby Luveve.
Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele of Bulawayo police said: “Police are treating the case as suicide but investigations are continuing.”
Law enforcement sources said Madzikatire had a large amount of cash on him in various currencies, including over US$4,000 and R19,000.
The married father-of-two, who is originally from Mutare, allegedly died meters from the home of his mistress.
