LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigerian-South African model, Chidinma Adetshina, has won the 2024 edition of the Miss Universe Nigeria competition.
This was announced at the grand finale of the pageant show on Saturday, August 31, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria.
Adetshina won the pageant, surpassing 24 other models representing different states in Nigeria.
Born and raised in South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, the model was last month hounded out of the South African pageantry following questions by ordinary South Africans over her real nationality.
She was forced to pull out of the South African competition citing concerns over her family’s safety.
But her dream of ever participating in a beauty pageantry was revived by a quick invitation to take part in the same competition in Nigeria where she went all the way to be crowned queen of the ramp.
By winning the crown, Adetshina will on November 16, represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico.
