HARARE – Police have launched an appeal after a 14-year-old girl disappeared from her home in Waterfalls, Harare, after a confrontation with her uncle.
Ruvarashe Hamadziripi has not been seen or heard from since the June 4 incident, national police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said.
“The juvenile fled to an unknown destination after deliberately pouring hot water on her uncle,” Nyathi said.
The reasons for the attack on her uncle have not been revealed.
Police say Ruvarashe immediately ran from the house in the Retreat Park area of Waterfalls.
Investigators are now concerned for her well-being after her family’s efforts to locate her through the extended family network came to naught.
Nyathi said anyone with information should report at their nearest police station.
