KADOMA – Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was gruesomely stabbed to death Tuesday night in Waverly, Kadoma.
Scott Blessing Kamwise, 24, was knifed repeatedly on his back and neck along Waterworks Road, near Blue Ranges in the gold mining town.
His killers are unknown yet with police launching an appeal for information that could lead to the arrest of suspects.
“Police in Kadoma are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of murder in which Blessing Kamwise, 24. was found dead with two deep wounds on the neck on 29 May 2024 along Waterworks Road, near Blue Ranges, Kadoma,” police said Wednesday.
Admire Zhangu, a friend of Kamwise, told ZimLive that he witnessed the lifeless body of Kamwise with deep wounds on his neck and two stab wounds on his back.
“It’s really sad. He was just a young fellow who liked to play cricket and what is worrying is that he still had his phone and earphones with him, raising suspicion this could be a targeted murder, maybe over women,” he said.
Kamwise, a Kadoma Cricket Club player, was seen by many locals as full of potential in the elite sport.
Kadoma, a gold mining town in Mashonaland West, is synonymous with vengeance and mine murders.
Some time ago, 28-year-old Ian Mharadze was killed at a local night club in the town after he had gone to avenge the beating of a friend on the previous day.
