HARARE – FC Platinum beat Hwange 3-1 to climb to the top of the league table in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 12 clash played at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

Wilfred Muvirimi and Lawrence Mhlanga were on target for the former champions few moments away from the half time break.

Hwange were first to score through a spot kick by Kelly Shiyandindi just after 3 minutes into the clash.

In other matches, defending champions Ngezi Platinum were 2-0 victors over TelOne at Baobab.

Deposed league leaders Highlanders snatched a point away to ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga in a clash that ended 1-1 with the power generators.

At Sakubva, Bikita Minerals beat fellow league debutants Chegutu Pirates 2-1 while Herentals beat visiting Bulawayo Chiefs 2-0 at Rufaro.

Arenel Movers lost 2-0 to Yadah at Luveve.

With Saturday’s Round 12 premiership clashes, FC Platinum are top of the league on 24 points from 12 games played.

Manica Diamonds are second on 22 points and could return to the summit of the league table with a win this Sunday in one of the day’s Match Day 12 fixtures.

Highlanders are third on 20 points from 12 games fulfilled.

Simba Bhora and Chicken Inn are tied on 17 points but the latter are fourth by virtue of a superior goal difference. Both sides are on 11 games played each.
