HARARE – Highlanders lost 2-0 to FC Platinum at Barbourfields on Sunday to sink three places down the league table in the headline fixture of the weekend’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 11 round of fixtures played across the country.
Bosso succumbed to goals by Juan Mutudza who powered home just after 2 minutes of the clash with Lawrence Mhlanga adding the second for the miners eight minutes later, and that was all to subdue the hosts.
In other fixtures, Manica Diamonds edged Bikita Minerals 1-0 at Sakubva to climb to top spot on the league ladder, thanks to a Michael tapera strike after 66 minutes of the clash.
In a match played at Rufaro Stadium, Dynamos were held to a 1-1 draw by city neighbours Herentals.
Dynamos were first to find the net with a Nomore Chinyengere goal on the half hour mark while Herentals replied through Milton Chimedza after 68 minutes in a match filled with drama.
At the Colliery, Hwange and Arenel Movers shared the spoils on 1-1 while TelOne were beaten 2-0 at home by Chegutu Pirates.
Following Match Day 11 round of fixtures, Manica Diamonds top the league standings on 22 points.
They are followed by FC Platinum who are on 21 while Simba Bhora are third on 20.
Highlanders, who led the standings for the last few weeks, are now number four on 19 points.
Caps United are sixth on 16 points while Dynamos are in 10th position on 12 points while having a game in hand.
