VICTORIA FALLS – The stars of the smash Amazon show, The Grand Tour, have been filming in Victoria Falls.
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond had the Victoria Falls Bridge, a gateway to Zambia, closed for an hour on September 30 as they continue filming for an episode of the show.
The trio were still in Victoria Falls on Sunday where they ate lunch at the Three Monkeys restaurant and posed for pictures with staff.
Clarkson, May and Hammond arrived in Zimbabwe on September 17. They were seen in Honde Valley on September 21 driving in three old sports, cars – a blue Lancia Montecarlo; a purple 1974 Triumph Stag and a yellow Ford Capri RS3100.
On September 22, Clarkson and May were seen driving into Harare without Hammond who had suffered a breakdown. They had arrived in Victoria Falls on September 24 when Clarkson posted a picture on Instagram of May and Hammond sitting on the banks of the Zambezi River at sunset with the caption: “The Grand Tour. Being grand.”
The Amazon programme follows the presenters as they test out all sorts of cars around the world.
The series launched in 2016, reuniting the three former presenters of the BBC’s Top Gear, a programme Clarkson was dropped from after he attacked a production staff member, before May and Hammond also quit in solidarity.
It’s not known when the Zimbabwe episode of The Grand Tour will show on Amazon Prime Video, the online retailer’s subscription service.
