TSHOLOTSHO – A man flogged his wife to death using a leather belt and electric cable while accusing her of cheating with his nephew.
Police on Sunday confirmed the arrest of Ackim Sibanda for the crime.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Ackim Sibanda, 32, in connection with a case of murder in which his wife, Similo Moyo, 31, died after she was assaulted with a leather belt and an electric cable indiscriminately on 21 July 2023 at a homestead in Sasedza line, Tsholotsho.
“The suspect accused the victim of having an affair with his nephew,” police said through their official Twitter handle.
In another incident involving murder, a 17-year-old minor died following an attack by unknown suspects in Kwekwe.
Police appealed for information that could assist them in their investigations on the murder.
They identified the victim as Sindiso Hlazo who died at Torwood Shopping Centre, Redcliff on Saturday.
His attackers remain unknown.
“The victim was found lying on the ground and bleeding from the ear. Anyone with information to report at any nearest police station,” police said.
