HARARE – Premiership bigboys Highlanders and Dynamos meet this Saturday in a potentially explosive Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 5 clash on a weekend that sees the current top four teams tussle each other.

Just like last season, Dynamos travel to Barbourfields first with the reverse fixture set for Harare later during the second half of the season.

Games between the two sides have produced fireworks both on and off the field.

The same fixture last year did not finish as fans from both sides invaded the pitch in what led to the abandonment of the tie after lengthy stoppages in between.

Highlanders was leading by a goal to nil after Washington Navaya broke the deadlock with a header on the stroke of full time.

Bosso were later awarded full points but both sides were fined for crowd trouble.

The reverse fixture at the National Sports Stadium was a dull 0-0 draw.

The rivals look stronger this season and remain unbeaten so far, making the weekend tie a mouth-watering one.

They are tied on 8 points but third placed Dynamos are on top of their rivals by virtue of a superior goal difference.

Both also drew their weekend encounters in two goalless affairs.

In another potentially thrilling encounter weekend, log leaders Caps United collide with champions FC Platinum at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Of the top four premiership sides, FC Platinum is the only team that has tested defeat so far.

Week 5 of the 2023 premiership campaign kicks off Friday with a double header clash between Cranborne Bullets and Yadah as well as Simba Bhora who are taking on Hwange FC at the National Sports Stadium.

On Saturday, newcomers Sheasham and Green Fuel go at each other at Mandava while Herentals College take on ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium.

Manica Diamonds host Ngezi Platinum at Gibbo with the blockbuster tie between Highlanders and Dynamos completing the Saturday menu of premiership clashes.
