HARARE – Dynamos Football Club have announced the departure of head coach Tonderai Ndiraya following the expiry of the club legend’s contract end of this year.
Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo said in a statement Tuesday the club was parting ways with Ndiraya.
The club did not show any keenness to renew Ndiraya’s contract.
“Dynamos Football Club announces that head coach Tonderai Ndiraya’s contract with the club will not be renewed after its expiry on the 31st of December 2022,” reads a statement by Dynamos.
“It is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision but Ndiraya will always be remembered for his contribution to Dynamos both as a player and a coach.
“However, this development does not dwarf the work Ndiraya has done in the last few years to rebuild Dynamos and position it for long term success.
“Ndiraya remains a Dynamos son whose loyalty to the club has never been doubted. We wish Ndiraya all the best in his future endeavours.”
Ndiraya finished the season this year on a less inspiring number three on the log standings in the country’s top flight football.
He has never won the league championship in his two stints with the club.
Despite clinching a top four spot in the just ended Zimbabwe football season, the achievement is far from the aspirations of the country’s most successful football outfit post-independence that is used to winning trophies.
Ndiraya has been suspended by the club before but was later reinstated.
