JOHANNESBURG – A picture of DJ Zinhle and rapper AKA hugging in a nightclub has South Africa’s rumour mill in overdrive, amid swelling speculation they are back together.
DJ Zinhle, who has a daughter with AKA, however insists that they are not yet there.
Zinhle spoke to KwaZulu Natal radio station East Coast Radio, a days after AKA was a guest at the station.
AKA was asked if he was still in love with DJ Zinhle, and he replied: “Yes, that’s the mother of my child.”
He also said he was sorry for cheating on her with TV and radio star, Bonang.
DJ Zinhle faced the same question, was she still in love with AKA?
“I don’t know, I don’t know. I don’t even know… I don’t know, I’m still trying to rediscover the love thing,” she said rather unconvincingly.
A picture of the pair hugging at Taboo in Johannesburg on Saturday ignited a firestorm on social media.
The snap was taken by a Taboo photographer backstage as AKA prepared to go on stage.
Zinhle made a joke of the snap, tweeting: “Are you single? Have you been unlucky in love? There’s finally a way to get a man. Just one hug and he’s all yours. Yes, ladies, it’s that simple. JUST 1 HUG. Just make sure there are cameras to seal the deal.”
After AKA cheated on Zinhle with Bonang, Zinhle dated controversial businessman Brendon Naidoo.
AKA split from Bonang very publicly – just as Zinhle had also called time on her relationship with Naidoo. Naturally, having the two former lovebirds suddenly both single was always going to fuel rumours of a rekindling of their romance.
